A Strange Video

No one knows by who or for what this video was taken.

I have been told you can see a face somewhere in it, but I can't find it. I only saw a weird little figure in white.

The Big-Head O

A few years ago I suddenly remembered about a village I once visited. It was a friendly little village I discovered by chance while travelling alone. I stayed there overnight and received a most heart-warming welcome. For some reason I don't know, I felt an urge to go there again.

I have good memory and was pretty confident that I remembered the way to get there. Once near the village I spotted a familiar sign post from my car; which, if my memory was right, should have read "___km to __(the village's name)." But strangely enough all there was on the sign were the words "The Big-Head O". I had a bad feeling when I saw it but still decided to drive on.

When I arrived at the village I found it deserted and all the houses buried in weeds. I was deeply puzzled and was about to get off the car when I saw, about 20 metres ahead of me, something that looked like a human with a very large head looming out of the bushes.
What? What is that? While I was trying to figure out what was going on I saw other similar creatures coming out all around me; moreover, they started to come after me moving in a grotesque manner, with their arms lying still against their sides and their large heads swinging side to side...

I was glad I hadn't left the car.
I let the car run backwards at lightning speed and joined the main road. Afterwards I checked my map but the location of the village I visited a few years ago and the place I went on that day were unmistakeably one and the same. However I don't think I will dare to go there ever again.

You are not the one!

Late one night after working overtime in an office, a man called F picked up a taxi. The taxi driver was a friendly man, and for a while they merrily chatted away.

Sometime later the taxi began to climb up a dark hill. Now woods surrounded them on both sides and there was no other car around.
Then the taxi driver suddenly said to F in a serious tone of voice, "Listen. In this place you mustn't look outside the windows. Got it?"

F was perplexed at the driver's abrupt change of mood and "Yes.."was all he could reply.
The taxi drove on through the woods. F began to feel uneasy and asked the driver, "Why shouldn't I look outside?" But the driver didn't answer. F was getting creeped out.
It was just then he heard a strange groan coming from outside the window beside him. F was startled and looked at the window in spite of himself.
Then he saw, spread out on the window, a large, angry face. When it saw F, it cried, "You are not the one!"

F lost consciousness immediately and could not remember what happened afterwards. Apparently on that road on the hill there was a hit-and-run accident not long ago which had left one man dead, and the killer was still at large. Since then the dead man had been appearing on the road every night, looking for his killer.

Death by hanging is one of the most painless way of dying - if done correctly.
If done wrong, your death would be horrific, marked by pain and degradation.

Uba-Yo-Sare

*If you are afraid of going to toilet alone in the middle of the night you'd better not read this kind of story. I have warned you!

A man woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. He got up and groped his way to the door in the dark. He was about to open it when someone knocked it three times from the other side. This was strange, since he lived alone in the house. He thought he must have a friend staying over without remembering it, as such things often happened after a night of drunken revelry. He therefore opened it without much concern.

But instead of a familiar face of his friend, he saw a strange old woman dressed in kimono, with a bent back and downcast eyes, standing still in the doorway. Her face was unusually pale.

And the old woman, without words, took him away to some faraway place, and the man was never seen again.

If you have read this story, you may have a visit from the same old woman within three days. If you hear the knocks three times in the middle of the night before you open a door, do not open it immediately, but chant the word "Uba-Yo-Sare" three times. This will make the malicious old woman go away. If you don't follow the instruction, well..... you know what happens.

The Children Upstairs

This is a story I heard from my friend at university. A man (let's call him "K") got whiplash in a car accident and decided to convalesce at home for a week. K was married but his wife was also working, so he was all alone during the day. For the first few days he enjoyed the freedom, but when the third day came boredom began to set in. Still he had to stay in because his injury kept him from going anywhere.

Then one day past lunchtime he was watching TV absent-mindedly when he heard heavy stamping noises and children's voices from upstiars. He didn't pay much attention to it, although he wondered if they were on a school holiday. The next day he again heard the same children's voices, around the same time as the previous day. It sounded like they had two children up there. The place where K lived was a large apartment block but inspite of that it tended to be very quiet during the day; the children's voices, therefore, echoed loudly in contrast to the quietness of the surroundings. K however did not feel annoyed, but was rather glad of the distraction and a break it gave him from the eerie silence.

The next day K, feeling bored and not motivated enough to cook lunch, ordered some pizza. The pizza, which arrived within 30 minutes, turned out to be too much for K that he left one whole pizza untouched. Usually he would keep any left-overs for his wife but this time he remebered about the children upstairs and, willing to do something kind, he decided to take the pizza to them.

K had no idea who the occupants of the room upstairs were but rang the doorbell anyway. He heard something stir inside, but there was no answer. He rang the bell again. He felt someone was looking at him through the peephole. "Who is it?" A faint voice called out from behind the door.
K explained he was from the room below and that he had some pizza left from lunch and wondered if they wanted it. The door opened a crack. It looked unusually dark inside the room. From the gap about 5 cm wide a woman appeared, revealing only half of her face. "Thank you very much. But we don't want it," the woman said coldly. It was a little too dark to discern her facial expression. K suddenly felt he was somehow out of place, like he shouldn't be there; however he tried to explain to her that he wanted her to give the pizza to the children.

A lukewarm air breezed out of the door. He smelt an unpleasant odour. In an instant two children's faces lined up below the woman's face. The door was open still only a crack. The dull eyes of the children stared at him. The three faces were forming a line.
"I see.... then... I will accept your kindness." The woman said. When K put the pizza box through the gap a hand reached out right from the side and snatched it away.

The three faces were still staring at K. "Thank you....." He heard the faint voice again. K quickly left the place. He felt spooked. In the corner of his mind he sensed something was seriously wrong. The image of the children's faces had left a burning impression in his mind. Faces..... He felt a chill down his spine. Faces...they were forming a line... His pace quickened. He wanted to get away as fast as he could. He waited for the lift but it would not arrive. Forming a line....vertically....on top of each other..... He pressed the button again and again, but the lift still did not come. He turned to the emergency stairs. His head throbbed with pain. He began to feel nausea.

Just as he opened the heavy door leading to the emergency stairs, he felt eyes on his back. Turning around, he glimpsed, about ten metres from him, the same three faces looking at him from the corner of the corridor. Like before, they were showing only the half of their faces and staring at him with their dull eyes. The cold day light shining through the windows illuminated their faces.

No longer caring about his neck he frantically ran down the stairs. Although the health-conscious K often used stairs instead of lift and could even ran up four floors in one go, he felt as if no matter how fast he ran he would never reach the ground floor. Faces lined up, on top of each other....that's impossible...that means there are...no bodies......and the strange things I saw behind the faces were...hands.....holding up the heads......
He ran into the nearest convenience store and asked the people there to call the police.
The police came, and searched the flat - and found the bodies of the mother and children in the bath tub. These bodies were headless.

According to their findings, it had been three days since the heads had been chopped off the bodies.
And the husband, who turned out to be the murderer, was found hiding in the wardrobe - insane. He insisted his family was still alive. There was a terror in his eyes; the polie did not know the source of his terror.

But K knew.

A Black Joke

It was a cold night at the end of March.
A man sat praying in front of a delivery room.
"Please God, save my wife and child."
The man's wife was having a Cesarean section. She had always been physically frail, and they didn't know if she could survive the operation.

Throughout the night, the man continued to pray for his wife and unborn baby...

After what seemed like an eternity, the door to the delivery room swung open.
The doctor appeared at the door, saying"It was a very complex operation but both your wife and child survived. Congratulations!"

The man, crying with joy, rushed into the delivery room.

However, what he saw inside was his wife lying dead in a pool of blood on the operating table, and his child who had dropped dead on the floor.

"April Fool!!"shouted the doctor behind him.

The Paper-Thin Woman

It had been a week since my colleague stopped coming to work without leave. When I went to his place to check on him I found him lying on his bed hiding under covers. I asked what was wrong and he replied, "That woman over there says I mustn't go out." I looked at where he pointed. Then I saw in the narrow crevice only a few centimetres wide between the fridge and the wall, a long-haired, paper-thin woman staring at us.

Don't Sleep In This Room

This happened a few years back on a new year's day.

All night long I had been out with my friends ; when I came home in the morning I just collapsed on my bed. Then I had a dream in which I was aware I was dreaming.

In the dream I was walking home and somehow all around me, on things like telephone poles and walls, posters had been put up, with words such as “Value your life,” and “No use crying over spilt milk,” in black calligraphic writing.
The street I was walking in was totally deserted and moreover something that looked like blood was splattered all over the place.
I was thinking, god this is some creepy dream!
I kept walking and was nearly home when my mother woke me up.
She had a very serious look on her face and said, “Don’t sleep in this room.”
“Why?” I asked.
She replied, “Right now they have a hotoke-sama (the dead) lying right above your room (we lived in an apartment block). ”

I wondered if that was why I had a strange dream.
Afterwards when we were eating osechi (a new year’s dish) my father uttered, “It was a suicide apparently. He jumped from a building.” When I heard that I was really spooked. Did he regret his rash action after he jumped?

A Made-Up Story

A girl made up a story and published it on the Internet as a true story. The story went like this; there was a park where, if you went, you would see a boy always playing on his own. He would say to you "Let's play together." If you answered "Yes," you would be killed but if you answered "No," you could go home safe. The story quickly spread among children.

One day the same girl went to a park and saw a boy actually playing there. The boy said to her, "Let's play together." The girl thought nothing of it and casually replied "Yes."

And the girl died.

The Ring

A family suicide occured in the surburbs of Gunma Prefecture (we call the family Suzukis just for convenience). A few months later they decided to pull down the house in which the family used to live. A group of university students in Tokyo, calling themselves "The Paranormal Research Group," heard about this and decided to visit the house before it was gone. The group consisted of two boys and two girls.

When the group arrived the house was already in the process of demolition. Inside was a total mess. They went in and with a video camera in hand started exploring. "Hello, Mr and Mrs Suzuki! Please excuse us!" Laughing and joking they shouted in the empty house. "Is this your kitchen?" "May I use your bathroom?"

After sometime, while the rest of the group were having fun, one of the girls began to feel scared and so they decided to call it a day. "Goodbye, thank you for having us!" They shouted again as they left. They stopped the video camera and got into the car. On the way home the other girl said, "Look! I found this ring in the house. We should keep it in our clubroom as a memento."

The next day. The group got together in one of the boys' room to watch the video.

"Hello, Mr and Mrs Suzuki! Please excuse us!"
"Welcome."

They froze. An unfamiliar voice which they did not hear when they were in the house was recorded on the tape.

"Is this your kitchen?"
"Yes."

"May I use your bathroom?"
"Go ahead."

"Goodbye, thank you for having us!"
"Don't go!!!!!!!"

Everyone fell silent. Then suddenly, their mobiles started ringing all at the same time.
They were all very alarmed but managed to calm down and picked up their phones.

"..........."

All that the two boys got was silence. The timid girl's call was also silent.
But the girl who snatched the ring heard;

".....hi, this is Suzuki. Please can I have my ring back?"

Dream On A Loop

My friend told me about the worst nightmare he had ever had.

In the dream he was walking alone in a desert. Somehow he was carrying a spear in his hand…After some time he saw someone crouching on the sand in the distance. As he had been feeling quite lonely he quickly ran up to the man. But when he bent over to help him up he saw that the man was no other than himself. In an instant he was overcome with fear and without further thought hacked the man to death with the spear. He then started running, trying to get away as far from the place as possible. However he soon stumbled and sprained his ankle. There was nothing he could do except crouch down and stay still -. And while he was at it he casually looked up and spotted, in the distance, his double walking towards him with a spear in his hand… then he woke up.

A Chance

This is a story of my friend who has powerful sixth sense.
At the time of the story she was living with her husband in the suburbs.

One night she was waiting for her husband, who had gone drinking after work, at home. But it was getting late and she decided to go to bed.
she dreamt that her husband's motorcycle crashed into a car and he died. She woke up and knew what had happened in the dream was true.
"He's dead! He's dead!" She panicked.

But soon after that she heard the familiar sound of motorcycle engine from outside.
The front door opened and her husband's cheerful, drunken voice sounded from the porch. He started explaining why he had come home late.
My friend, who had been crying, became a little cross, grudging for the nonchalant way her husband behaved.
"You are really late. I thought you've died from an accident!" She said from her bed, raising her voice so that her husband could hear her.
"Oh dear! So you've made your choice then?" Her husband said lightly, sounding almost as if he was teasing.
Then came a complete silence. Minutes later she got a phone call informing her of her husband's death.

Later she told me, "I think I threw away a chance God gave me."

On a Rainy Day

I was standing by a crossroads waiting for the light to turn green. On the opposite side I saw a man standing just like myself, but his whole body was enveloped by some shadowy black mist. No one else around him seemed to notice it. "God, that looks real bad," I thought, and hiding my face behind the umbrella I innocently tried to walk past him, when he glided towards me and whispered, "You saw it, didn't you?" as we passed each other. I was terrified. Really.

In the Underground

One summer night I was working late in the office with my colleague. Suddenly my colleague said, "I can you hear some strange noise, can you?" "Really? I don't hear anything," I replied. "No, I can definitely hear something, " he said. "It's like a woman sobbing..."
I stopped typing and strained my ears to listen. I still couldn't hear anything except a distant rumble in the sky.... It was thunder. Thunder was something to be afraid of. If we had a blackout all the data we have put in so far would be lost, and in the worst case scenario our motherboard could get damaged as well. We were nowhere near the end of our assignment but we decided to quit there and then and go home.

My colleague was reluctant to go home alone but we were going different directions so there was nothing I could do. We said goodbye in front of the company's building and I took Meijo line from Sakae station (*). Today's work was, as usual, demanding.. As I sighed, I heard the patter of raindrops. "Damn! It's raining. I haven't got an umbrella with me." I clicked my tongue and tried to think which convenience store was the closest to Hibino station where I was getting off at.

The train came to Kaneyama. At night all trains on the line went to Aratamabashi so I had to get off there to change. I stepped onto the platform. Then it suddenly hit me. Rain? In the underground?

* All stations mentioned here appear to be of Nagoya, one of the largest and most prosperous cities in Japan.

Boiled Sweets

I used to have a little brother.
The only memory I have about him is when I shared with him the boiled sweets I was given for tea.
Even so my brother, who was only one month old when he died, still lives on in our heart.

A Case That Chilled A Psychiatrist To The Bone

I am a psychiatrist and the other day I encountered a case which sent a chill down my spine. Sometime ago a new family moved in my neighbourhood: a couple in their sixties and their son, who was about 30 years-old. The son was a so-called hikikomori(*) and was seldom seen outside his home. Naturally I couldn't ask the family directly but it was obvious that they had moved to the new place to escape from the social stigma.

Days had passed and the son went out less and less until he would not leave the house at all. He was now a complete hikikomori. Every night the mother was heard screaming at him in his bedroom. When I sometimes chanced to meet the mother she greeted me with a smile but she always looked pale and haggard.

A half year had passed since I last caught a glimpse of the son when his father came to me and said, "could I ask you to visit us tomorrow?" I had never been involved with them personally or as a doctor but since we were neighbours and neighbours were supposed to help each other, I agreed to come.

The next day when I visited them both father and mother welcomed me at the door. "Please, come this way," the mother said as she led the way to her son's room. When we came to the front of the room the mother suddenly shouted, "I'm going to open the door!" As soon as she burst in she shrieked, "why are you still sleeping? Get up!" She tore the duvet off the bed. I saw what was lying there and was struck dumb with disbelief. There was only one faceless, unclothed mannequin lying on the bed. Then the father told me, "the person I want you to see is my wife, who can not bear to accept the reality."

-------------------------------------------

Note:
*hikikomori - lit. "pulling away, being confined", i.e. "acute social withdrawal") is a Japanese term to refer to the phenomenon of reclusive individuals who have chosen to withdraw from social life, often seeking extreme degrees of isolation and confinement due to various personal and social factors in their lives. (Wikipedia)

The Wardrobe

This happened to me when I was still at primary school.
I was babysitting my little brother while our parents were out. We were bored so we decided to play hide-and-seek.

I became "it" and started looking for my brother. I entered my parent's bedroom and opened a wardrobe which was crammed full of clothes. I then thrust my hand into it when immediately another hand reached out from inside and gripped mine.

I tried to pull him out shouting, " Hey, come out!" But he wouldn't come out no matter how hard I pulled. He was hiding behind all the clothes and didn't speak a word either, and I started wondering what was wrong with him.

Just then a voice called out to me from behind: "what are you doing there?" It was my little brother standing in the doorway. I panicked and shook myself free of the grip and we rushed out of the house together.

Needless to say, I couldn't go inside again until my parents came home. What was that hand? Did it belong to a burglar, or......?

A "Good" Ghost

A couple are enjoying a drive through a mountain. Suddenly they notice a child standing ahead of them. The man slams on the brakes and manages to stop the car. He gets out of the car to check but the child has disappeared into thin air. Then he notices that they are on the edge of the precipice and had the man not put on the brakes they would have been dead. The woman says, "I know now! The child was trying to warn us of the danger. It was a good ghost."

But immediately after she said it they heard a child's voice from behind; "you should have died...."

Children On The Bus

It was past ten in the evening. I thought I was the only passenger on the bus, but I heard children's voices from behind.

The children were apparently talking about a ghost story.

Child A: ".... and if you turn around, the ghost will snatch you away and carry you to the afterworld!"

I recognized the voice. I often saw these children on the same bus after work. They went to a nearby school.

Child B: "Then that's easy. All you have to do is make sure you don't turn around."

Child A: "Yes, but I heard you can't help but turn around. The ghost would try all sorts of tricks on you to get you turn around."

We were getting close to the bus stop where these two usually got off.
But it looked like they didn't notice it.
I thought I should warn them because I didn't want them to go home late.
So I turned around and said, "you are getting off here aren't you?"

Child A: "See, I told you so."

My Neighbour

*"I" = NOT Saya

I went outside to put rubbish out this morning.
At the front door I met my neighbour who said "good morning," to me.
I told her "good morning," too.
It was only when I had gone back inside that I remembered that my neighbour had committed suicide a week ago.

The Red Crayon

*"I" = NOT Saya

This is a story I heard from my friend, who works in an estate agent.
There was a flat he was in charge of, and one of its rooms always gave him a strange feeling every time he went into it. Something was not quite right about it, but he could not put a finger on what it was.

Then one day he thought he found out the reason; he spotted that the passage next to the room was about one metre shorter than it should be. He went to the end of the corridor and knocked on the wall. And from the sound being made he deduced that there was a small space between the original wall and the one he was knocking on.

He thought that was odd and decided to investigate further. Having first got permission from his boss, he pulled down the wall.

“I would have felt better if I’d found a skeleton or something in there,” my friend told me later about his experience.
In reality what he found inside was a certain word, repeated again and again, written all over the walls.
“Mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy mummy……,”so the word ran endlessly, in red crayon.

In the end they decided to put the wall back into place, leaving the place as it was, without erasing the words. After that he promptly handed over the charge of the property to another colleague.

"Kuchisake-Onna" 口裂け女 or Slit-Mouth Woman

A child walking home from school is approached by a strange woman. The woman asks "am I beautiful?"

Although her mouth is covered with an oversized surgical mask, the woman has attractive eyes and seemingly well-formed nose. So the child replies, "Yes, you are beautiful."

"Even if I look like this?" says the woman, taking off her mask and revealing a ghastly red mouth which is slit from ear to ear. While the child is too stunned to move, the woman takes out a scythe from inside her coat and hacks the child to death.

Kuchisake-Onna is one of the most famous faces in Japanese urban legends. Details of her appearance and background, and her method and instrument of killing differ from region to region. Above story is the most commonly told pattern. Her victims are almost always children.

Ways to avoid getting killed by Kuchisake-Onnna:
■When asked "am I beautiful?" you mustn't give her straight yes or no answers (either way you're done for) but give her ambiguous answers such as "so-so", "normal" or "average." Run away while the woman is busy puzzling over the meaning of the answer.
■Sugar candy is the woman's favourite sweets. Throw it to her and you can get away while she drools over it.
■Chanting the word "Pomade" three times would petrify her and buy time for you to run away.
Why "Pomade"?
The usual explanation for the woman's disfigurement is that it is the result of a plastic surgery gone awry. The surgeon who operated on her was wearing pomade and the odour of it was so strong that it made her sick; for that reason chanting "Pomade" to her would remind her of that traumatic experience; hence her reaction. Instead of chanting the word you can also throw an actual jar of pomade at her, which is a more effective form of defense. Smearing pomade into your hair is thought to have an effect on her too.

Her appearance:
She usually wears a long crimson coat, to camouflage the spatters of blood she gets from her victims. She is thin and pale-skinned, and about 20 years old of age. She always wears a surgical mask, but that is not so unusual in Japan where some people wear such masks to avoid passing their cold onto others.

Other rumours:
■Kuchisake-onnna can run 100m in 3 seconds.
■She is one of three sisters. The other two sisters have split mouths too.
■She likes the number 3. She often appears in places which have "three" in their names.

A Mirror Ritual

Prepare four panels of mirror and one candle. Place the mirrors in such a way that when viewed from above they form a square with each side measuring 15cm in length and facing East, West, South and North respectively. Turn off the light and between 12:46 am to 1:13 am, that is for 27 minutes, and put the lighted candle inside the square.

Then something very terrifying will appear in the mirrors.

Once there was someone who tried this ritual but seeing the image shocked him so much that it turned him mute; and so what was really reflected in the mirrors still remains unknown. The terror drove him to gouge out both his eyes while he was in hospital. The only words he managed to utter before he died were: “I wish I had never seen it.”

Gunkan- jima: "Battleship Island"

The so-called "Gunkan-jima" (meaning "battleship island" in English), is a popular name given to Hashima Island located about 15 kilometres off the coast of Nagasaki, Japan. It once had a coal mining facility, and at its peak was the most densely populated place in the world; but now the place is completely deserted.
The island has numerous abandoned concrete buildings surrounded by a high wall which makes it look like a formidable marine fortress. Added to that the whole shape of it resembles the Japanese battleship "Tosa" so much that it has come to be known as the "Battleship Island ". The rumour has it that during the second world war a US marine once hit it with a torpedo mistaking it for a battleship.

It is one of the most well-known ruins of Japan and its unique landscape and atmosphere continue to fascinate and capture the imagination of people today.
Visits to the island is officially prohibited but some people still manage to sneak in there anyway!

Apparently Nagasaki City has started to do restoration work on some parts of the island from this year in order to make a public viewing possible.

A Voice From Upstairs

*As usual, the "I" in this story is not Saya

This is a story from my childhood.

When I was a child I lived in a rented two-floor house.
Both my parents worked so I was often alone when I came home from school.
One early evening when I came home the house was still dark.
I called out, “Mum?” and heard a voice say “Yeeeeees?” from upstairs.
I called her again, and again got the same “Yeeeeees?” reply.

I felt she was calling me and climbed up the stairs.
When I reached the first floor I called her once more and the voice “Yeeeeees?” came from the furthest room.
I felt both uneasy and a strong urge to see my mother and started to walk towards the room.

But just that moment I heard the front door downstairs open and my mother come in, carrying a lot of shopping bags.
‘Shunsuke (my name), are you home?” My mother called in a cheery voice.
Hearing her voice made me feel instantly better and I turned back to go downstairs at once – but not before I had a quick glance towards the room.

While I watched from the top of the stairs, the door to the room slowly opened a crack.
For a brief moment I saw something strange in there.
It was an unnaturally pale face staring at me.

The Tent

*"I" in this story is not Saya!
This is a true story.
We were staying at a campsite inside a permanent tent. Each tent accommodated eight people and there were seven tents in total, lined up in a row.

My tent was the seventh one and it was positioned at the end of the row.

One night I went out of the tent to go to the bathroom.
When I came back and opened the door of the tent, I found no one inside. But I was sure everyone else was fast asleep.
I thought: 'what?', and went out again to make sure I was in the right tent. But the sign on the tent said, “No.8.”

What was I thinking, I’m in No.7! I thought to myself as I went to the one standing next to it.
- Yes, of course I knew that “No.8” didn’t exist but I was so scared that I convinced myself it was just a mistake and went back to sleep.

By the next morning, the eighth tent had disappeared.

Silent Hill 4 Trailer

Silent Hill 4 "The Room"(Playstation 2) is known to be one of the creepiest games ever produced and this trailer does justice to its reputation.

I want to play this game but I'm not good at action games.

Forbidden Siren 2 - the promotion game "Sleep Walker"

The promotion flash game for the play station 2 game "Forbidden Siren 2" (or just Siren 2 in Japan)

Once a peaceful, prosperous island of Yamijima is now deserted and lies in ruins. Explore the island and have a taste of the dark secret that surrounds the place.

Click HERE to play the game.

Instructions:Use the few items you have at your command (they can be selected via the icons in the right hand corner of the screen) and explore the ruins by interacting with objects. There are only handful of rooms to go, but you will have to do the whole tour a few times to see everything. The game is in Japanese but you don't need to understand the language in order to play it(although it would be better if you do).

I don't think there is an end to this game but if you find one let me know!

HERE is the official Japanese site of Forbidden Siren where you can also watch a promotion movie etc.

To My Regret

There was once a girl who had been diagnosed as having only three months to live.
When her friends came to visit her in hospital, the girl’s mother, hoping to make the best out of the occasion, got the idea of taking a picture of them together while the girl was still relatively well. So she took a picture with the sick girl in the middle sitting up on the bed and her two friends on either side of her.

Only a week later after the picture was taken the girl’s illness took a turn for the worse and within less than three months she passed away.
The funeral was held and the girl’s mother was just beginning to come to terms with her loss when she remembered about the picture she took in hospital. She went to a shop to have it developed, but when she had the pictures back she couldn't find that particular picture. When she asked the shop owner about it he just said, “I’m sorry… I made a mess of it.” The mother however got suspicious and asked him again what became of the picture. She said it was the last picture of her daughter she took before the girl died and begged him to give it to her. “I really think you shouldn't see it,” said the shop owner. “You just stay calm, ma’am, OK?” He said before cautiously taking out the picture in question.

And there it was, the picture of the three girls - but one thing was different; the body of her daughter (who sat in the middle) looked as though it was mummified.

The mother was very upset but she took the picture home nevertheless, telling the shop owner that she wanted to have it purified by a shaman.
When she was at the shaman’s the mother asked her what implications the sinister picture had; and there again the mother was met with a wall of silence. But as before, the mother would not give up and begged the shaman to tell her the truth. The shaman in the end gave in to the mother's persistent entreaties and opened her mouth. She said;

“To my regret, your daughter has fallen into the hell.”

INUGAMI (犬神・Dog-God)

Note:I do not in any way approve of cruelty to animals. PLEASE DO NOT DO IT for real.
Inugami, or literally "dog-god" is a kind of spirit that can possess a human, and is a type of kodoku(1*) The belief in this spirit was still strong until recent years and was widespread particularly in the western part of Japan.

Those who can create and command Inugami is called "Inugami-tsukai" (literally, dog-god user). Inugami-tsukai creates an Inugami by the following method; first, you take a live dog and bury it in the ground up to its neck. Then you put some food in front of the dog but just beyond its reach, so that the dog is able to see the food but is not able to eat it. You then let the dog starve and when it is near to death and its desire for food is at its strongest, the Inugami-tsukai must go behind the dog and cut off its head. The dog's head is then buried undeground in the middle of a cross-road; this is to get as many people walk over it as possible in order to intensify its grudge. Finally the head is dug up and enshrined. Now a powerful inugami is born (2*).

Inugami can be commanded to possess a person. Those who are easily possessed by Inugami are the ones who are emotionally unstable. The possessed may act and say odd things, complain of pains in the chest and limbs, and sometimes walk on all fours and even bark like a dog.

In order to exorcise an Inugami you need either eat a charred beast, or ask a Yamabushi (3*)to perform a special ritual (involving use of fire and incantation) for you.

The size of Inugami is about the same as a large rat. Some say it is covered with spots and is blind. It is usually invisible to ordinary humans.

Inugami-suji "The Dog-God Bloodline"

The family which is possessed by an inugami is described as "Inugami-suji", meaning "dog-god bloodline." They are said to be the descendants of the shamans and sorcerers who originally created Inugami.

If the family worships it the Inugami bestows prosperity on it; on the other hand if the spirit is treated poorly it will bring calamity to the house.

In Inugami-suji household, a new Inugami is created every time a girl is born. When the girl marries, she is said to take her Inugami with her, thus making the new household an Inugami-suji too. For this reason normally marrying to an Inugami-suji was the thing to be avoided by common people. In few areas of Japan, some people still check the bloodline of the bride before marriage to make sure that she is not from an Inugami-suji.

1*Kodoku - a black magic that uses living animals; will be explained more in detail on this blog in the near future.
2*This is the most well-known method. A source says when the dog's head is cut off it should fly and bite the food in front of it.
3* Yamabushi - lieterally meaning "one who lies in the mountain" Yamabushi is a Japanese ascetic and is a practitioner of shugendo, a syncretic religion mixing Buddhist and Shinto elements. (wikipedia).

I personally found it rather funny.

You Are Next

A family of four was staying at a country inn. Late one night the mother found her daughter murdered in a toilet. Her face had been knifed so many times it was almost unrecognizable; and her tongue was missing.

The toilet cubicle had one latticed window measuring 30cm wide and 10cm high and also a small ventilator, but these were too small for anyone to get in from outside. The door was locked.
Who killed the girl, and how? The police proceeded to question the couple who ran the inn and their only son, and any suspicious persons seen around the area, but what with the perplexing problem of the locked cubicle, it was thought that the case would remain forever unsolved.

Then the son of the inn owners one day turned up at the police station accompanied by his parents. The parents said; “We couldn't talk to you frankly before because we were worried about the neighbours’ prying eyes… But something dreadful has happened and we would like to tell you.”
The parents continued: “Our son likes filming people secretly although we have always reprimanded him for the distasteful hobby. It turned out that he was there at the time of the murder. He was filming the toilet cubicle from the space above the ceiling when the small window opened and something entered, holding a.…well, I think you’d better see the rest for yourself.”
The son, when questioned about the video tape, suddenly lost control of his mind, apparently through reliving the horrifying experience of that night.
Did the tape contain something so terrible that it would drive a man to madness? The sight of the deranged man deeply affected the police officers and they dreaded watching the video even as one of them pressed the play button.

The tape began with the girl squatting over the Japanese-style toilet(*). When she finished and stood up, suddenly a tiny figure – appearing as an old woman measuring about 15 to 20cm – jumped in noiselessly from the window, bearing a glass shard in her hand. Before the girl had time to scream, her throat was slit, followed by vicious attacks on her face and then her entire body. When the girl expired, the old woman cut out the tongue and a section of the scalp from the dead body, and looking up at the ceiling, she uttered; “You are next.” After that the old woman disappeared through the window which she came from - carrying away both the bloody tongue and the scalp with her.
Many police officers who watched this threw up, cried or loosened their bladder on the spot out of sheer terror. The case in the end was not solved, but it is said the police station still retains the video tape.

* Unlike the western-style toilet, the traditional Japanese toilet has its opening on the floor, over which you squat down.

Different From The Dream

A girl dreamt she was being chased by a stranger. The girl ran and ran, shouting for help, but soon she was caught and knifed to death. She woke up screaming.

One day she was strolling in a park, when she spotted a man walking towards her. To her shock, he looked exactly like the man who murdered her in her dream. She panicked and ran straight to a nearby telephone box to call her friend, thinking she could get help. The man, while she was still on the phone, walked right past her. The girl, relieved, got out of the telephone box and started walking again. But she was astonished to find that once again the same man was coming towards her. Her heart was beating hard and her hands turned clammy with cold sweat. She was aware that this time she had nowhere to hide. She looked down and tried to walk quickly past him. And then, just as they passed each other, the girl heard the man mutter under his breath; “Why the hell is it different from the dream?”

Will be posting tomorrow!

I've been, like, dead for the past few days.
But I have finally managed to come out of the "zombie state" (the condition I suffer from time to time) and finished translating two stories. I always prefer to recheck my writings on the following day so I'm actually posting these stories tomorrow.

The thing that has been bugging me is - I really don't know what you guys find scary. Normally it seems what I find scary don't scare other people, and what other people find scary I find funny.

So I decided I will just translate ALL the scary stories I come across regardless of whether I personally find it scary or not, so as to tailor to all tastes and all ages (family friendly?) Look forward to reading them!

The Decapitated Head

Jumping in front of a train is one of the most gruesome ways of dying because the damage that is inflicted on the body is enormous.

One man killed himself by this very method, flinging himself from the platform into the rail when the train was just passing the station. His limbs were torn to pieces and as for his decapitated head it flew and landed on the platform. Many people were there to witness this ghastly incident, and they were watching it with sheer shock and horror, when suddenly the decapitated head opened its eyes and shouted, "This is not a show!"

100 Ghost Stories (Hyaku-Monogatari)

This is a classic Japanese ritual for summoning a ghost, called Hyaku-Monogatari (Hyaku=hundred, Monogatari=Tale).

The Modern Version (practiced since the Edo-period)

Prepare a hundred candles.

You will need a group of people, up to a hundred in number.

Sit in a circle. Light all the candles and place them at the centre of the circle.

Make sure the room has no source of light save that of the candles.

One by one, tell one another ghost stories. As each story ends, blow out one candle.

When a hundred ghost stories are told and all the candles are put out leaving the room completely dark, a ghost will appear in the middle of the circle.

The Ancient Version (from a source written in AD1666)
The ritual should be done at New Moon.

Prepare 3 rooms (or if that is impossible, 2 rooms will suffice) , adjacent to each other. Preferably these rooms should be arranged in a way that they draw the shape "L" when viewed from above.

The room in which group gather should be completely dark; the next room likewise. The third room should contain a hundred andon (a lantern with a wooden flame and paper shade) and a mirror on a table.

The paper which the andon is made of should be blue in colour. All participants should also be attired in blue, and all should enter the first room without carrying swords. Put away any other weapons and such dangerous objects from the room (although there were some who would adorn the room with a sword, to ward off evil)

When a story is told, the storyteller has to grope his way in the dark to the third room where he is to put out one andon, look himself in the mirror, and return to the first room once more. The group are allowed to continue story-telling while the previous storyteller is away. The stories here do not have to be only about ghosts or monsters; they could be stories of enigma or a curse.
When all the stories are told and the true darkness descends, something supernatural will happen.

In reality when they used to perform such ritual, they often stopped at 99th story and waited until the daybreak. It was because the true purpose of the ritual was to test one's courage, and they did not want the risk of actually summoning a supernatural being.

*The picture at the top shows rows of andon.
*The picture on the left shows Ao-andon (Blue Andon), one of the monsters which were said to appear at the end of Hyaku-Monogatari.
Ao-andon is a she-demon with long hair and horns and her teeth painted black, clad in white kimono.

The Man-Eating Piano (*violent!)

Who would have thought of coming up with the piano = a man-eating monster formula?
Well someone did.

This bizarre and surreal clip comes from an infamous Japanese film, called House (or hausu as it is pronounced in Japanese), first shown in cinemas in 1977.

You won't know whether to feel horrified or amused by it.
The combination of the hand-drawn special effects and the bad acting contributes to create a bizarrely comedic result.

*DELETED:THE LINK FOR THE VIDEO IS DEAD
I will try to find out if there is another one to replace it.

For those of you who are interested, I uploaded the trailer below.

I have seen many trailers in my life but never one like this which, instead of giving us overall ideas about the plot of the film, only serves to further confuse us.

I haven't watched the film myself, but when I do, I intend to write a review on this site.

They Do Not Come Back

From Saya: The numbers in brackets show that there is additional information in the footnotes below.

A group of eight high school students, four girls and four boys, met in a house to tell one another ghost stories. The night came and they decided to go and do kimo-dameshi (1*) But the main reason for doing so wasn’t to test their courage, but it was that they could play the game in boy-and-girl pairs. It didn’t really matter where they went so they just chose to go to their high school (2*).

Their high school building was very old; it was nearly a hundred years old(3*). In the dark, the building looked more formidable than it did during the day.
The group duly split up in four pairs. They could not go inside the building so all they would do was to walk around the school ground once which would take about twenty minutes in all.
The group’s spirit was high and there were a lot of loud teasings as the first pair set off.

Twenty minute passed, and then thirty minutes gone... But the pair didn’t show up. “Wonder what kind of things they’re doing all by themselves?” the second pair said jokingly as they set off into the dark. But they too did not come back.

By then the ones who were left behind were starting to feel uneasy.

The third pair left, assuring the remaining two that as soon as they 'd finished the game they would come back on the double and that if possible, bring all the others back with them too. However, this was not to be, since the third pair also disappeared.

It had already been more than two hours since the first group set off. The girl of the last pair got scared and broke down in tears. Her partner said to her; “don’t worry. I’m going out there alone to find out what’s happening. If I don’t return in thirty minutes, go straight to the police. Don’t wait for me, OK?” Then the boy ran off.

He did not come back either; even so the girl, crying, waited for an hour before going to the police. The police accompanied her back to the school but at first they could not tell where all the boys and girls were gone. It was when the sky was beginning to get lighter that they reached an old, disused gymanasium.

The police went in there and saw that the door to the lavatory was open; when they stepped inside the lavatory they found the missing seven, all hanging by the neck from the ceiling. All of them were dead. From what the surviving girl testified those seven had no reason to commit suicide at all. But they could not find any evidence of murder, so in the end the incident was dismissed as a case of mass hysteria. The curious thing is, the school was not known for any ghostly stories.

***********************************************************

1* Kimo-dameshi can be translated as a game of dare or a test of courage. This usually involves exploring supposedly haunted places, either alone or in small groups. On returning, the participants are sometimes asked to show a proof of their adventure. It is a popular game among young people and is often played in summer.

2* Schools in Japan often have their own ghostly tales associated with them. I don’t know why, but I guess strange rumours always spring up where a lot of people gather and many mini-dramas are enacted on a daily basis. In times of war or natural disaster school is always the place for the local people to seek refuge; perhaps this is another reason why dark tales arise from it.
There is something eerie about a huge building which is so noisy and full of people during the day, but is in sharp contrast often totally deserted during the night.

3* Buildings nearly a hundred years old would be seen as old in Japan, where the building are often made of woods and as such they are hard to preserve. As a nation we are often plagued by earthquakes, and stone building just wouldn’t be practical for us.

Higan-bana

Higan-bana, called hurricane lily or tiger lily (1*) in English, is a beautiful red flower (2*) which in Japan blooms in Autumn. "Bana" means flower. "Higan" literally means the "world beyond", and it is the name given to a festival time dedicated to paying respects to our ancestors. It happens twice a year, in Spring and again in Autumn; it is around the latter time when Higan-bana are supposed to open their petals.

Having such a name and also being a fataly poisonous plant, it is associated with death and bad omen in Japan.

You might hear elderly people say that Higan- bana are actualy the deceased reincarnated into the form of flowers. So it is sinful to pick them.

Another might say that if you pick and take a Higan-bana home, it will bring fire on the house; possibly because its bright red colour is associated with fire.

Higan-bana are also sometimes called shibito-bana (deadman's flower), jigoku-bana (hell flower), yurei- bana(ghost flower), kamisori-bana (razor flower) or kitsune-bana (fox flower).

The meanings attatched to Higan-bana are: "sad memories"; "you are the only one I love"; "Let us look forward to seeing each other again."

An Incident On A Snowy Mountain

A photographer went to a snowy mountain with his assistant, having been commissioned to take pictures for a magazine article.

They stayed at a log cabin, and a few days had passed when the assistant had an accident and injured himself.

At that point their work was still unfinished and they felt they could not go home unless they finished it first. So they decided to stay on the mountain.

However the injury got worse and worse, until the assistant suddenly died from it a couple of days later.

Even so the photographer would not go home. He was very committed to his job and to leave the work unfinished was unimaginable to him. He decided to bury the assistant by the cabin and continued to work on his own.

The following morning when the photographer awoke, the assistant’s dead body was lying beside him.
“I’m sure I buried him…” He was deeply puzzled. He went and buried the body again before going off to take pictures.

But the same thing happened again the following morning, and the morning after that. On his final day he decided to set the camera to automatic mode and place it by his sleeping bag, so he could see what went on during the night. The next morning, the dead body was there beside him as he had expected. He buried it again and then climbed down the mountain.

When he got home he developed the pictures he had taken the previous night.
And there in the pictures he saw someone get up, go out of the cabin, carry the dead body back on the shoulder and lay it down beside his sleeping bag – and that someone was no other than the photographer himself.

The Red Room

*The following story is fairly well-known and exists in several different versions.

Late one night, a taxi driver picked up a girl. When he asked her where she was going she replied she was going home.
“Please go straight down this road,” “turn right there,” she instructed him as he drove on. During the journey the driver sometimes gave furtive glances at her through the rear view mirror; the girl had beautiful shiny hair and seemed pretty, although he couldn't see her face clearly because she sat with downcast eyes. He also found her quiet and demure manner attractive.

Before long they reached a lonely, deserted hillside. The girl said, “You will see a house straight ahead.” And sure enough, a small, old cottage emerged from the darkness. The girl got off, and the driver stayed and watched her go into the house. It was odd that a young girl like her should live in such a lonely, old place, seemingly all on her own. He was intrigued and instead of leaving straight away, got out of the car too and crept up to the house, feeling an urge to know more about her and see her face properly. He felt he was behaving improperly but could not help himself.

When he got close, he saw all the curtains were drawn and there was no way to see inside.
He circled around the house a few times but there was no attempt from inside to lift the curtains. He thought if he stayed any longer the girl might notice him, so he nearly gave up and left when the front door caught his eyes. The door had a large keyhole, which looked as though it would work just as fine as a peephole.
He looked through the keyhole; but found, much to his dismay, all he could see was the colour red, and there was no sign of either the girl or any kind of furniture in the room. Now matter how long he kept at it the scenery remained the same.

He gave up looking, but still could not forget about the girl, so he stopped by the small restaurant he'd seen on the way to her house, thinking he could make a few inquiries about her there while having a meal at the same time.
He told the restaurant owner what had happened, even revealing (although he was terribly embarrassed) that he had a peek through the keyhole.
“I looked through the keyhole, but all I could see was something red…I know it wasn't a proper thing to do.”

The owner, hearing that, looked at him strangely and said to him;
“You know that girl… she has some sort of disease and her eyes are both crimson red.”

*Did you understand what the restraunt owner's words meant? :)

Piggyback

Once there was a family of four, the father, the mother, the son and the daughter. The father and the mother had grown cold to each other in recent years and were arguing all the time. In spite of that, the family planned to go on a holiday. But the day before the holiday began the couple had a fierce fallout again. The father this time got out of control and murdered the mother. The next morning the father left home for the holiday with the children as if nothing had happened. After some sight-seeing the three of them sat down to rest. Then the son looked quizzically at his father and asked; “Daddy, why have you been carrying Mommy piggyback all morning?”

Parity

It is late at night. A woman alone in her room watches TV. With a bored expression, she aimlessly flickers through channels... until she encounters a strange movie, and a series of bizarre events follow...
A very well done flash movie well worth watching.

This Time...

A young couple had a baby, but as they were poor and could not afford to keep it, they decided to kill it… They went to a lake in the dead of night and having rowed a boat to the middle of it, dropped the baby into the water, while the mother kept murmuring; “I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…” over and over again.

Some years passed and the couple decided to marry. Between them they had a new baby girl and the family was living happily together. When the little girl became four years-old, she suddenly started pestering her parents to take her to the lake. The parents were reluctant to go, but finally gave in because the girl was so persistent. As soon as they arrived at the lake the girl said, “Daddy, I want to be on that!” pointing at a boat. Again reluctantly the couple gave in to her entreaty. They were in the middle of the lake when the girl said; “Daddy, I want a wee-wee.” The father, not knowing what else to do, lifted her up above the water so that she could do it, checking first that no one was around. And it was that very moment, when the father’s hands were wrapped underneath the girl’s knees, and both were facing the water, the daughter looked back at her father over the shoulder and said; “Please don’t drop me this time.”

Ikumi

This is a true story I heard from my friend N; a very sad and painful story of what happened to Ikumi (pseudonym), whom N had been friends with since primary school.

Ikumi lost her father before she entered primary school and her mother brought her up alone, working hard day and night without rest, sacrificing everything to get her daugther into high school, even university. It wasn’t long before all that hard work started taking its toll on her and she collapsed. But as soon as she got a little better, she started working again, only to collapse soon after… the same pattern repeated itself again and again, until the day came when she couldn’t get up at all.

The mother realized that she had not long to live and gave Ikumi an amulet (NB: you usually get an amulet from a shrine and it is a little sachet with some sacred object inside) saying; “I am sorry, Ikumi. From now on you will have to survive on your own. But if one day you found life really hard and thought you couldn't go on anymore – please open this amulet.” Very soon after that the mother passed away.

Ikumi cherished the amulet and never parted with it except when she took a bath. One day Ikumi and her friends (including N) went to a public swimming pool and when they were getting ready in the changing room their talk turned to Ikumi’s amulet. Her friends got very curious and begged Ikumi to show the content of the amulet. Ikumi at first refused, but thinking it had been a long time since her mother passed away and maybe it was alright to take a little peek, she decided to open it. Inside the amulet, there was a small folded paper. What? Is this all? Ikumi couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. She took out the paper and unfolded it. On there it said - in shaky handwriting- “Ikumi, die.”

Cursed Kleenex TV Commercial

This TV advert, known as "Kleenex, the Red Demon Version" (aired 1985-6) is rumoured to be cursed. Here is a list of some of the rumours it spawned:

1. Everyone involved in making it became ill or died mysteriously.

  • The camera man who shot it burned to death in the sauna from the machine failure.

  • By the time the film was aired, not one of the film crew was alive.

2. The actress in it suffered from mental illness and was forced to retire from acting.

  • She was incarcerated in a mental institution.

  • She eventually hanged herself.

3. The child actor impersonating as the red demon died suddenly:

  • by getting hit by a car soon after filming - he got decapitated.

  • after suffering nightmares and sleep paralysis non-stop for three days and nights

4.If you watch this advert, you will be cursed and/or die.

  • After seeing this advert, many people committed suicide.

  • If you play it in SAP the girl's singing voice transforms into that of old woman's.

  • If you record it first and then replay it, the red demon turns into a blue demon.

It is understandable why people would start such rumours, seeing the eerie atmosphere which permeates the movie: the blood red background, the demon, the ethereal singing voice... But before you freak out, you should know that these rumours are totally unfounded! (After all the song, which was rumoured to be cursed and said to become a demon-summoning incantation when sung in reverse, seemed to have once been a no.1 UK hit single!) There was a newspaper article of a camera man who died in the sauna, but it is not known whether he was the same person who filmed the advert.

Here is another Kleenex advert known as the "Angel Version", which was aired between 1977-78 and also sometimes rumoured to be cursed.

A Call In The Midnight

(*Note from Saya(the translator): the “I” in this story is not me, but an anonymous man who is the author of this story)
This is what actually happened to me, so there isn't going to be a clear cut explanation at the end. But it scared me out of my wits, and I thought you might be interested to hear it.

It was about three years ago. It was my first summer since I started university and began living on my own. Previously I had never bothered to get a mobile before, because when I was at school we had a spare telephone handset at home, and I would use that when I needed a secret chit-chat with my girlfriend etc. But then at university everyone around me carried mobiles and they all told me how handy it was, so in the end I was persuaded to buy one myself. Now, I can't live without it. Anyway, my story is going to involve the mobile.

It was around 2 or 3 am. My mobile suddenly started ringing. Being a student it wasn’t unusual to get phone calls at odd hours – but it was very late anyhow, and as I wasn’t yet used to hearing the sound of sharp ringing tone in the middle of night, I jumped out of my bed half in panic and lunged for the phone.
“Hello?” I said.
“..zzz…z……z.” There was no answer.
“…Hello?”
"...zz……z.....”
Still no answer.
All I could hear was the sound of heavy rain. Wherever the caller was, it must have been outside and it was pouring buckets. And probably very cold, too. Trivial thoughts like these flickered through my mind as I continued vainly to get some response. I didn't think about hanging up, as I was still feeling groggy and wasn't thinking very clearly.
I don’t know how long it took, but after some time I finally heard a voice. It was a voice of a middle-aged woman, perhaps in her thirties.

“Helloooo?” I said again, for the hundredth time.
“Hi! Do you have any idea where my mobile is ?”said the woman.
“What? Your mobile?”
“Yeah, ,my mobile! I’ve just lost my mobile!”
“Well…. That’s too bad…..”
“I’m stuck in the middle of a mountain! I’m coming over to you right now!”
“What? Mountain? What do you mean??”
Beep beep beep…
The woman hung up, before I could understand what was going on.

For the next few minutes I just stood there, simply stunned, but then a thought hit me which made me wide awake in less than a second.
It dawned on me that the number on the display started with 090 (NB: 090 are standard digits used at the beginning of a Japanese mobile number), and also I had no clue whatsoever about who the hell she was. Once I got my mind working, I started noticing other really odd things about the call. So she's in the middle of a mountain, in this rain and at this hour? Why and how could she call from there? Mobile? Didn’t she say she lost her mobile? Was that the mobile of someone else she was with? How did she get to the mountain in the first place? By car? But I could hear it was raining like mad.. was she outside? Why? - How? - What? Now I was really beginning to panic.
Then I remembered her last words, and felt my body go cold all over: I am coming over to you right now.
In a flash I was out of my room and was dashing towards my friend's house. There I stayed up with my friend all night, with all lights in the house turned on.

What happened the next morning is the most terrifying part. I was naturally very tired from lack of sleep and so tried to go home and get some proper rest. But when I arrived at my front door the whole area was covered with someone's footprints… all wet and muddy.... and there and then, I changed the mobile setting so that I could block that strange phone number. I then went straight back to my friend’s to sleep in there.

That’s the end of my story. Soon after the incident I broke the moblie by accident, and lost all the data. To this day I still don’t know what that call really meant. Whoever the caller was - a ghost or a psychopath – it was truly unnerving experience to me. When I tell this story to my friends they all say I should have returned the call, but if they had been in the same situation, I bet they wouldn’t have guts to do that either. Some things are best left alone …. As the old saying goes, “The wise man never allows himself to be in danger.”

Experimental Music With Aim To Cause Mental Destrution (remix)
A really bizarre and creepy music which probably does what it says on the tin if you've listened to it long enough.

happy3: Mental Destruction
Apparently the original version of the music above, with a short movie.

Found another one! The original and longer version of the music. Sound only.

Good Friends

One summer four friends went to the beach.
The group was made up of two men and two women. Let's say the men were called A and B, the women C and D, where C was A’s girlfriend, and D was B’s girlfriend. The four friends had known each other for a long time and lived in the same apartment block.

B, C and D went into the same car. A had a motorbike and rode on his own.

When it was time to go home, B said “Shall we have a race and see who can arrive home first?”
A agreed, and the motorbike and the car started a race.

The car was the first to arrive. B and his girlfriend D were thrilled that they had won. But C, who was A’s girlfriend, was not so happy. She knew A was a very skillful rider, and had been so sure that he would win the race; as it happened, A was still nowhere in sight.

He never came home that day. The next morning B and D went to C’s room to tell her sad news. “Well… I really don’t know how to say this..” B started. “I got a call from the police earlier this morning who told me that A had been in an accident. He was speeding when he hit the guardrail… He died in an instant.”

This was terrible news to C, who loved her boyfriend very much, but B and C had something even more shocking to tell.

“I said before that we had a phone call from the police. But well…now, don’t be upset… immediately after the call we had a visitor.”
“A visitor?”
“Yes. And when I asked who it was, guess who answered.”
B paused.
C could see the two were now visibly shaking as B opened his mouth again.
“The person said… that it was A.”

C was not sure if she’d heard right. She just stared at them incredulously.
“We thought it was some kind of sick joke, and I was about to go out and give him a piece of my mind. But then I realized, how could anyone know what had happened to A, when we were the first to receive the news? No one could have thought of playing such a joke. I thought of that, and then I got really scared. I couldn’t open the door. Luckily, after waiting for a few minutes he went away….”

B and D then warned C not to open the door if the same sort of thing happened to her. They believed that the person who came to them was A’s spirit, and that the accident came so sudden that A was unaware of his own death. If C opened the door, they said, he might try to drag her away with him to the next world.
After B and D left, C spent the rest of the day crying alone in her room, remembering all the wonderful time she and A had shared.

Then the night came.

C woke up by a loud knocking on her door.
“It’s him….!”
C tried to stay calm and ignore the knocking. But it would not stop.
“Hey!” said A. “It’s me! Open up!”
C went to the corner of her room and covered up her ears. But after a while, with all the wonderful memories still fresh in her mind, she could not resist anymore.
“Please! Open the door! It’s me!!”
The knocking was getting louder and louder.
C went to the door silently. Through the curtain, she could see the outline of A’s form. He was standing right there in front of her, just beyond the door. C nearly opened it, before remembering her friends’ warning.
A was dead. He had to understand that.

Shaking and crying, she shouted in a desperate voice,
“A, please… you …dead…….”
The knocking got even louder.
C thought that she could at least help him see the truth and leave this world in peace.
Mustering all her courage, she finally pushed the door open.

”A, you are dead!!!!”
“No! You are the ones who are dead!!!!!”

- At that, she lost consciousness.

When she next opened her eyes, she found herself lying on a bed in hospital.

To her amazement, A, who she thought had died, was standing beside her. He was crying with joy.
C did not know what was going on. A started to explain:
“After I’d done the race and arrived home, I waited for you three to turn up but you never did”
He told her between sobs.
“So I rode back the way I came, and saw your car, all smashed to pieces… B and D, who were seated in front, were dead on impact. You got away with only few injuries, but somehow you’ve been unconscious all this time.”

As all the facts started to sink in, C began to understand what had really taken place and went deathly pale.

It seemed B and D, who had met an instantaneous death, had stole into her mind and, through the dream, tried to lure her away from this world. If C had done as they had asked and not opened the door, she too would have been dead - for real.
